A Day in the Life
IT Architect ensures that IT programs and projects align to Medtronic Global IT roadmap and Architecture principles through different activities with IT stakeholders. IT Architect support other IT stakeholders in creation of landscape diagrams, review ARB artifacts and ensure readiness as well as support IT value streams on their technology and tool selections. IT Architect helps design and implement technical solutions, working under the guidance of senior architects. They collaborate to create system architectures aligned with business goals, evaluate technology options, provide technical guidance, and support project teams. This role often involves assisting in the development of scalable and efficient solutions, ensuring adherence to best practices, and maintaining architectural integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Work closely with senior architects and project teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Assist in the design and implementation of IT systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
- Research and evaluate various technology options to find the best fit for specific project needs.
- Provide technical guidance to development teams, ensuring adherence to architectural standards and best practices.
- Support project teams throughout the project lifecycle, from planning to deployment and maintenance.
- Document design choices and implementation details, ensuring a clear understanding of the system architecture.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including business leaders, project managers, and technical teams.
- Identify and resolve technical issues that arise during the design or implementation process.
- Ensure that all projects meet relevant compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest IT technologies and trends
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- 3+ years of IT experience with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, MCA, or MSc.
- Experience in IT Enterprise Architecture, advisory level consulting, architecting Business Transformation programs with specific experience in managing architecture reviews & IT Application Portfolio Management.
- Strong knowledge of leading practices in designing resilient IT application landscapes.
- Establish technical leadership in architecture communities, executive communication, and Proactive communication.
- Expertise in Enterprise Architecture practices and tools.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Meticulous with the ability to see the bigger picture and identify strategic opportunities.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and manage multiple competing priorities.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Ability to foster a culture of transparency, accountability, and collaboration within the IT Solution and Enterprise Architecture teams.
