We surveyed over 200 people who work at leading biotech companies in the biotechnology industry and here is what they said about the top biotech companies to work for in 2018. Some of our respondents have worked in both the biotech and the pharmaceutical industry, medical device, clinical trials, and other areas of life sciences.

What is the World Largest Biotech Company?
Johnson & Johnson is the largest biotech company in the world which was founded in 1885 as a provider of ready-to-use surgical dressings but being the largest does not always make you the best but in this case, it does.
80% of our survey respondents who work at Johnson and Johnson had nothing but positive things to say about the company from work life balance, great salary, value of its employees, great benefits and just a great overall place to work. Also, Glassdoor has over 3K reviews where 84% recommend J&J to a friend and 96% of people approve of the CEO.
Amgen also made the 2018 list of best biotechnology companies to work for. 65% of respondents who work at Amgen reported that the company had great benefits and great people. 60% of people recommend Amgen to a friend and 77% percent of people recommend the CEO according to Glassdoor. Our respondents have also said that they have learned a lot, Amgen pays well and is a great place to work and that you’re working with some of the brightest minds in the biotech industry at Amgen. Others said the workplace is very productive and Amgen has one of the best employee performance management processes that they have ever seen. Amgen is also known to have a great work life balance and being a very focused organization.
Celgene an American biotechnology company that discovers, develops, and commercializes medicines for cancer and inflammatory disorder was also a top contender. 75% of people recommend Celgene to a friend and 86% of people recommend the CEO according to Glassdoor. 63% of our respondents who work at Celgene said that the company is extremely innovative and there is an opportunity to learn outside of your immediate job responsibilities. The company is also known to boast great benefits such as gym, transportation benefits, and many other great features.
Gilead Sciences, a research-based biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development, and commercialization of innovative medicines also had some impressive results. According to Glassdoor 52% of people would refer a friend and 80% of people recommend the CEO. 49% of our respondents who work at Gilead Sciences, said that the company has great benefits, a strong leadership team that listens to their employees.
Biogen Inc. a multinational biotechnology company based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, specializing in the discovery, development, and delivery of therapies for the treatment of neurodegenerative, hematologic, and autoimmune diseases to patients worldwide was also a strong performer. 61 percent of people would refer a friend, while 56% of people approve of the CEO according to Glassdoor. 55% of respondents who work at Biogen state that the company has good rewards which include decent pay and benefits, friendly people and a great work-life balance.
While there are many great biotech companies and pharmaceutical companies to work for around the world, this is the short list of companies that made the cut according to our respondents.
